Where is Star?
Star's legacy is something truly special, and we hold it dearly in our hearts - not just as an organisation but as a nation. Since its inception in 1997, it has been with us, broadcasting nationwide. We thank God for the opportunity to serve Him and share His message of hope across New Zealand.
On February 14, 2025, Rhema Media launched a new nationwide station called Sanctuary - a praise and worship station with new voices and a few familiar ones!
We're excited to see where God takes us in 2025 with Sanctuary!
For those seeking a broader music selection, Rhema and Life FM remain great options.
FAQ
Why are the teaching programmes being removed from Sanctuary?
We're transitioning Star into a new format called Sanctuary - New Zealand's Worship Station, which will focus entirely on worship music. This decision was made after careful consideration and prayerful reflection on how we can best serve our audience and meet their spiritual needs. We believe that creating a 24/7 worship environment will offer our listeners a unique and powerful way to connect with God through music.
What is the vision for Sanctuary?
Sanctuary is designed to be a space where listeners can immerse themselves in worship, experience the presence of God, and strengthen their spiritual lives through continuous worship music. Our goal is to provide an uplifting and encouraging atmosphere that draws people closer to God. We have seen a growing demand for this type of content (in New Zealand and around the world), and we're excited to meet that need with Sanctuary.
Why are teaching programmes no longer included?
While we deeply value the teaching programmes that have been a part of Star for many years, the new focus of Sanctuary is solely on worship music. This shift means that we will no longer have a schedule that includes long-form teaching content. This decision in no way reflects a lack of appreciation for the teaching ministries that have contributed to Star over the years. On the contrary, we are immensely grateful for the impact these programmes have had on our community.
Where can I find the teaching programmes now?
We understand that many of our listeners have benefited greatly from the teaching programmes. To continue accessing these valuable resources, you can find them on this website. This allows us to ensure that these teachings remain accessible to those who wish to continue engaging with them.
What does this mean for the future?
We encourage those who are seeking teaching content to explore the resources available on this website. As we move forward with Sanctuary, we remain committed to exploring new ways to partner with teaching ministries that align with our worship-focused vision.
